All prices exclude GST. Service hours cover routine and project work; anything beyond them is billed at the plan rate of $140 per hour. Instance counts are the covered maximum, not a commitment to use them.

Comparing quotes

Read the per-instance number, not the headline

Managed SQL Server support is usually advertised as a monthly figure without saying how many instances it covers. That makes a cheap-looking plan easy to build and hard to compare.

Divide before you compare

A plan at $999 a month covering 3 instances is $333 each. Plan A at $1,500 covering 10 is $150 each. The bigger headline number is less than half the price per instance.

Ask what a ticket costs

Plans priced per incident reward a provider for your estate being unstable. Ours include service hours, so a quiet month is a good month for both of us.

Check what the SLA measures

A response SLA that starts when a human notices is not a response SLA. Ours starts when the alert fires — one hour on Plans B and C, two on Plan A.

Plan B is $3,000 and adds MySQL/PostgreSQL cover with a one-hour SLA; Plan C is $7,500 and covers 25 SQL Server, 4 MySQL/PostgreSQL and 6 Oracle instances with daily health checks. Every plan includes service hours and runs month to month.

Every plan is delivered by named Australian-based DBAs who hold all database access.

Additional work is billed at the plan rate of $140 per hour, which is lower than our standard $150 consultancy rate and considerably lower than the $180 ad-hoc emergency rate. We tell you before hours are exceeded, not after.

No. All three plans run on a rolling monthly basis. If the service is not worth what you are paying, the correct response is to be able to leave, and we would rather compete on that basis.

Australian-based Onsys DBAs, and only them. No offshore engineer holds credentials to a client database environment, on any plan. We will confirm the access terms in writing during scoping and write them into your agreement.
